Multiple Subject

Admissions Requirements

This is a two-year course of study. Students earn a Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential that allows them to teach grades K-8. Multiple Subject teachers can teach in either a self-contained classroom or CORE setting. To advance to the District Intern Program, candidates must:
 
  • Demonstrate subject matter competency:

      • Pass the California Subject Examinations for Teachers ( Multiple Subjects CSET) OR

      • Obtain Subject Matter Equivalency Letter

  • Successfully complete Pre-Service with a “B” or higher

  • Obtain positive faculty recommendations

  • Participate in field experience

  • Secure full-time teaching contract with a participating school or school district, teaching at least 60% in subject area
