Single Subject
Admissions Requirements
This is a two-year course of study. Students earn a Preliminary Single Subject Credential that allows them to teach middle or high school students in grades 6-12. To advance to the District Intern Program, candidate must:

Demonstrate subject matter competency:

Pass the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) OR

Obtain Subject Matter Equivalency Letter

Successfully complete Pre-Service with a “B” or higher
-
Obtain positive faculty recommendations
-
Participate in field experience
-
Secure full-time teaching contract with a participating school or school district, teaching at least 50% in subject area
